Andrés,---
Well,--- here´s the Goddam
presentation:
As I told you, ours is a film
peculiarly unsuited to treatment form. What is worse, I am a writer
peculiarly incapable of working effectively in that form...
What this film basically adds up
to, of course, is a portrait (in the documentary syle) of Jake
Hannaford-- or rather, a series of impressionistic sketches made by
the media on the last day of his life.
Plus the film on which he has been
working... Since this last is poetic, surreal and erotic, the best
solution I could find, for our particular purposes, was to dismiss
this aspect of the film in the shortest possible synopsis.
What I´ve given time and verbiage
to is the nature of the film and the nature of the man who is, at
once, the subject and the author.
The style is deliberately
intellectual... I do hope this was the way to do it, because,
frankly, my mind reels at the prospect of anything else:
